About this episode

I speak to Christian Eid – one of the early employees at Careem in charge of launching new markets and then later as the group’s head of marketing – about his learnings and his views on why Careem was wildly successful. We discuss culture and brand building and the need for brands to take risks.

After leaving Careem, Christian launched 2 new ventures; DuckLife, a branding agency and NoBueno, a talent matching platform. We discuss Christian’s unconventional approach to finding big problems to solve and how this approach continues to guide him along the way. We focus on the role of recruitment and talent in building great companies, why we’re getting it wrong and how he plans to fix it.

An important note: DuckLife donates 25% of their revenue to the UNHCR (The UN Refugee Agency) for programs supporting refugees, you can support this initiative by buying a very cool t-shirt here.
