About this episode

Hossam Allam is the General partner at Climate Resilience Fund based out of Cairo, Egypt. We discuss the nature economy and what it means, then we deep dive into agriculture, food security and why our region is especially vulnerable.

We discuss the role of entrepreneurs in tackling some of the challenges we’re facing with a special sense on agri-tech. What are some of the low hanging fruits that can really move the needle? Why isn’t there more funding going into ESG?

We end with a sobering message. We have been mindlessly consuming for 200-250 years and nature has been subsidizing our growth. Today, nature is teetering on bankruptcy. What’re we doing about it?
